Norton Says Indian Victims of Cybercrime Don’t Stop Risky Online Behaviour

Indians who were victims of cyber crime within the earlier year often continued their unsafe behavior, still posting passwords and other dangerous steps online, a new report by Norton by Symantec revealed on Thursday night.

The twelve-monthly report entitled “Norton Cyber Security Insights” found that 79 percent of consumers know they have to actively protect their information online nevertheless they still participate in risky behavior online.

“Our findings show that folks are progressively growing aware of the need to protect their personal information online, have a tendency to be not encouraged to take satisfactory safety measures to stay safe”, Ritesh Chopra, Country Supervisor of Norton by Symantec, said in a declaration.

For instance, while these consumers were equally likely to use a security password on every account, these were over twice as likely to share their security password with others, negating their efforts.

In addition, practically one in five (18 percent) consumers have at least one unprotected device, leaving their other devices susceptible to ransomware, malicious websites, zero days and scam attacks, the findings demonstrated.

“While consumers remain simply satisfied, hackers are refining their skills and adapting their scams to further take good thing about people, making the need for consumers for this increasingly important, ” Chopra added.
