3 Nigerians held in Bengaluru for cheating woman

HYDERABAD: Three Nigerians were imprisoned from Bengaluru by the Cyber Crime Cell sleuths of the Rachakonda commissioner for cheating a stay at home mom, a resident of LB Nagar, to the tune of 1.03 lakh. The trio — Emeka Santos (30), Chika Mitchille (30) and Noah Simisola (28) — were apprehended in Bengaluru, police said.

According to Rachakonda law enforcement officials, the housewife had submitted the resume of her husband, who is presently working in Afghanistan, on several job portals on March 4. “Soon, the lady got an email from a company, Octavia Turbocharged Mech, saying that this individual had been shortlisted and was asked to publish his certificates along with a copy of his passport. The lady told us that she submitted all the documents and was informed that she would be sent a joining notice, ” Cyber Crime Cellular inspector Md Riyazuddin said.

After obtaining the notice, she was told that she would have to deposit 1.03 lakh in several bank accounts for processing her husband’s Australian visa. “On seeing the quick response of the sufferer, the cyber crooks started out demanding more money. The victim became suspicious and lodged a complaint with us on March 13, “he said.
