Microsoft described the growth of energy efficiency in the Edge Creators Update

This week began distributing versions of Windows 10 Creators Update through Windows Update, where developers have submitted a lot of innovations in the system and related applications. Microsoft used the event as an occasion to talk about the merits of his Edge browser and compare it with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox on several aspects, including the length of battery life.
The study found that on Windows 10 Creators Update device Edge browser running on 77% longer compared to Firefox and 35% longer compared to Google Chrome when viewing streaming video from Vimeo service. This device had a laptop Surface Book (Intel Core i5 2,4 GHz and 8 GB of memory). We used the operating system Windows 10 Pro 15063 and version Microsoft Edge 40.15063.0.0 browsers, Google Chrome 57.0.2987.133 (64 bit) and Firefox 52.0.1 (32-bit). Exact results were 12:31:08 (751 minutes) at Edge, 7:04:19 (424 minutes) in Firefox and 9:17:03 (557 minutes) in Chrome.
To test Microsoft has set the screen brightness to 75%, turn off the sound, location, Bluetooth, updates and ambient light sensor. Windows Battery Saver power saving mode is activated when the battery charge level of 20%. The device works on the same wireless network, your browser cache has been cleared, run Windows Defender.
The same comparison of Microsoft browsers performed last year after the release of Anniversary Update, and the winner was also Edge, ahead of competitors by 43%.
