WikiLeaks has published the latest information on tools for hacking the CIA. In addition to Windows and Linux, American intelligence is also interested in Android, on which more than a billion devices are active.
A tool called HighRise is a malicious application capable of intercepting text messages and sending them to CIA servers. To distribute the hacker’s utility, the TideCheck application is used, but for this the device must already be under the control of the CIA, for which there must be other tools for hacking Android.
After the application must be launched manually, the first time you need to enter a password. According to WikiLeaks, the password is inshallah, which means “God’s will” in Arabic.
HighRise works only on versions of Android 4.0-4.3, but it is likely that the CIA has already updated the application to crack more recent versions. It was created in late 2013, when the most modern version was Android 4.0. HighRise can run at the time the device boots in the background, so it can not be noticed unless you specifically look at the list of running processes.
In the future, WikiLeaks can publish a description of other hack tools within the Vault 7 series of leaks.
