Mumbai Police To Have 4 New Cyber Cells Soon

Mumbai Police will soon be establishing four more Cyber Cells in the city. The state government has given their nod for creating four new Cyber Cells and has also sanctioned 186 posts of police personnel for these new cells. In addition, a Cyber Training Center will also be established up with a capacity of 100 seats.

Mumbai Police have registered 467 cyber crime cases until May 14 this year and arrested 63 folks involved in these situations.

According to home section officials, there has recently been an exceptional development in neuro-scientific information technology, and as a result, information posting, financial transactions, and online purchases have increased.

“Citizens are also using online communities on a huge level, and due to this, cases of against the law online transactions, obscenity and cheating are also rising. In order to tackle the increasing cyber crime situations, the decision to create four more cyber cells and one cyber training center was being considered which has now been approved by the government, ” said a home department standard.

He added posts of two assistant commissioners of police, 24 police inspectors, 40 assistant police inspectors and 120 police agent will be created for these four cyber cells. “The government has approved Rs 14.59 crore fund just for this project, the official said.
