Police hold the members of the hacker group contracted the virus more than a million smartphones. This was said Interior Ministry spokesman Russian Irina Wolf.

“It was found that the group includes 20 people living on the territory of Ivanovo, Moscow, Rostov, Chelyabinsk, and Yaroslavl regions and the Republic of Mari El, and the organizer of the illegal business is a 30-year-old resident of Ivanovo”, – said Wolf.

According to authorities, the damage caused by the activities of hackers has made about 50 million bits. Cyber criminals are using malware software that allows you to obtain unauthorized access to smartphones, and with the help of hidden SMS, commands transferred money to advance bills.

Recall that in early May, around the world spread the virus-extortionist WCry (Wanna Cry). According to Europol, the hacker attack suffered  200 thousand computers in 150 countries. The main anti-virus expert “Kaspersky Lab” Alexander Gostev said that the ransomware virus could create a North Korean hacker from Lazarus groups.
