HP Accused of Hidden Installation of Spyware
By Prempal Singh
One of the largest hardware manufacturers, HP, was accused of installing spyware on users’ computers without their knowledge.
In addition, users complain that the HP Touchpoint Analytics Service, designed to collect telemetry data from the analytical services of HP Touchpoint, slows down the device.
For the first time about this software reported one of the users of the forum Bleeping Computer. According to him, the program was notified by the antivirus after the next update of Windows. Currently, it is not clear whether this software was bundled with the latest official Windows updates, or security updates, or it was downloaded by HP Support Assistant.
Users were outraged that HP did not request any permission to install the software. They also complained about the heavy load on the CPU and the general problems in the system after installing the program.
Representatives of HP have not commented on the situation. Blog by Cyberops : India’s Leading Cyber Security Company Providing best Cyber Security Services & Ethical Hacking Training in Jaipur India.
