How to install Nmap on Linux & Windows

What is Nmap

Nmap is stands for Network Mapper, which is open source, used for find network and auditing for security. Network administrator are used for monitoring host or service up time, network inventory, managing service and upgrade networking schedules.

Nmap also use raw IP packets are many ways to identify which hosts are available on network, types of services those hosts are offering, which type of operating system and their version, type of packet filters, firewall.

Installing Nmap

For Debian and Ubuntu Based Computer System:
apt-get install nmap

nmap-install-cyberops-infosec-how-to-install-nmpa

For Red Hat and Fedora Based Computer System:
yum install nmap

For Gentoo Linux Based Computer System:
emerge nmap

For Windows Computer System

Step 1: Download nmap from there official website www.nmap.org

Step 2: Launch nmap application and accept the agreement.

Step 3: Select components to install according to your requirements.

Step 4: Select the destination folder to install.

Step 5: select WinPcap option.

Step 6: After complete the setup install click on next.

Step 7: And in last click on finish.

So now you able to install nmap in Linux System and Windows System.
