First cyber security chief of White House to name retired general

The White House on Thursday is likely to announce retired Circumstance. S. Air Force General Gregory Touhill as the government’s first federal government cyber security chief, a position intended to improve protection against hackers, according to a government statement seen by Reuters.

Touhill’s job will be to protect government networks and critical infrastructure from cyber risks as federal chief information security officer, in line headline.

He is currently a deputy associate secretary for cyber security and communications at the Office of Homeland Security.

Touhill will commence|get started his new role later this month, a source acquainted with the matter said.

Grant Schneider, who is the overseer of cyber security policy at the White House’s Nationwide Security Council, would be named acting deputy to Touhill, in line with the announcement.
