FBI arrests NSA contractor for stealing data and nation-hacking software

There is another example of how the government is mismanaging our cyber-security, a NSA contractor was covertly arrested and classified documents were uncovered in the position. The FBI also suspects that he took software that could crack, compromise into foreign governments’s sites and network.
A Maryland man who worked as a contractor for the NSA has been arrested for allegedly stealing classified material, U.S. officials said Wednesday.
Fifty-one-year-old Harold Thomas Martin III of Glen Burnie, who had a top secret national security clearance, was arrested on Aug. 27, according to the Justice Department.
A search of his home and car turned up a trove of documents and digital files — a “large percentage” of them with highly classified information, some labeled Top Secret of Sensitive Compartmented Information, according to the federal criminal complaint.
Martin has been in custody since August. The name of his attorney was not immediately available.
News of his arrest was first reported by the New York Times, which said he worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, the same firm where NSA leaker Edward Snowden was a contractor when he took a huge cache of classified documents and fled the United States in 2013.
Just how many other contractors have done exactly the same thing or worse? This is what occurs you level up a government program – as more people are hired to do sensitive work, there’s a greater chance of inefficiencies or espionage. Expect really this as either generous president Hillary or generous president Trump expands the us government.
