Cisco and IBM are taking initiatives of the cyber crime by joining forces

By Prempal Singh 0 Comment June 5, 2017

Cisco and IBM Security have announced a new cooperation to work together across products, services and danger intelligence to deal with the growing global threat of cyber crime.

As part of the agreement, Cisco security alternatives will integrate with IBM’s QRadar to protect firms across networks, endpoints, and cloud. Customers will also benefit from the level of IBM Global Solutions support of Cisco products in their Managed Security Service Company (MSSP) offerings.

The collaboration also establishes a new relationship between the IBM X-Force and Cisco Talos Security research groups, who will start participating in threat intelligence research and coordinating on major cyber security incidents.

“In cybersecurity, taking a data-driven strategy is the only way to stay ahead of the threats impacting your business, ” said Bill Heinrich, chief information security director, BNSF Railway. “Cisco and IBM working along greatly increase our team’s ability to give attention to preventing threats versus making shut off systems work with one another. This more open and collaborative approach is an important step for the industry and our capability to defend ourselves against cybercrime. ”

The combo of Cisco’s security attractions and its architectural strategy, integrated with IBM’s Intellectual Security Operations Platform, may help customers secure their firms more effectively from the network to the endpoint to the cloud.

“Cisco’s architectural approach to security allows organizations to see a threat once, and stop it everywhere. By simply combining Cisco’s comprehensive security portfolio with IBM Security’s procedures and response system, Cisco and IBM bring products and solutions across the network, endpoint, and cloud, paired with advanced analytics and orchestration functions, ” said David Ulevitch, SVP, and general supervisor, Cisco Security.

In addition, IBM’s Resilient Incident Response Platform (IRP) will incorporate with Cisco’s Threat Main grid to provide security groups with insights needed to respond to incidents faster.

“Cybercrime is an expanding danger and continues to have far-reaching effects. By 2021, it is expected to cost the world $6 trillion annually, ” said Dr. Tamer Aboualy, CTO, Security Services, IBM Middle section East and Africa. “With Cisco joining our immune system of defense, joint customers in the Middle section East will greatly increase their ability to improve their use of intellectual technologies for Cyber Protection. Also, having our APPLE X-Force and Cisco Talos teams collaborating is a tremendous advantage as cyber criminals become significantly more sophisticated. ”

IBM X-Force and Cisco Talos research teams will collaborate on security research aimed at addressing the most challenging cyber security problems facing communal customers by connecting their leading experts.
