“Experts have long warned that the inherent lack of security in many of the devices that include the Internet of Points (IoT) would come back again to harm us in the end. Now there is firm evidence more and more IoT devices are vulnerable to becoming DDoS botnets.
“Botnets are also called “zombie armies” that can be deployed on thousands–if not millions–of linked devices to send a spam attack, spread malware or launch a sent out denial of service DDoS attack. The more Internet-connected devices there are, the greater the opportunity of extremely large botnets.
“It is difficult to prevent all IoT devices from being recruited into a botnet, but organizations can certainly protect their systems by deploying an in-line, real-time, automated solution at the network edge, to discover and eliminate the threats from entering a network. ”
