After announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the demonetization in India and asked people to return Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes, uses of e-Wallet are rises. Companies like Paytm, PayU India, MobiKwik, Freecharge are already seeing results and many people are using frequently the e-wallet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also forced to using e-Payment and will announce to launch government e-wallet as par ‘Man Ki Baat’. But if we talking about the cyber crime then it is hard to use safe e-wallet. Cyber Criminals can hack your e-wallet account. So here are some security tips, you should follow while using e-wallet or digital wallets, so follow some steps to secure your transactions and e-wallet also:

This is very simple and first steps to secure every online transaction that uses a secure network connection. You can set the security on your e-wallet app that whenever you log in its need two-factor authentication. so if  someone gets your password and tries to log in to your account, then with the help of this feature, a code is generated and send to your registered mobile number and not able to login to your account.

  • Don’t Click on unknown or untrusted links

Most probably Cyber Criminals used this technique to affect victim’s mobile, computer important or personal data. You can receive that type of links via emails or social networking sites like facebook, twitter, LinkedIn etc or social media messenger such as WhatsApp, Hike, Line, Viber. Whenever you click or tap on this link then you could the victim of phishing, malware/adware/rootkit install, IP trace or any harmful things.

Sometimes we open random websites like how to hack facebook account or anything, then website force to install software with the permission of administrator and force to disable anti-virus or firewall. And user not able to think about that or install software. Although the software is not working but behind the process, hacker installs RAT/Trojan/Ransomware on your computer or mobile system without your permission.
