More than 70 percent of terrorists and terror organizations around the world are using various internet medium tools to distributed the evil of terrorism and additional their goals, Gulshan Rai, the Country wide Cyber Security Coordinator in the Prime Ministers Business office (PMO) has said.
Speaking at the India Meeting on Cyber Security & Internet Governance organised by Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi, Mr Reflet said 70-75 % of terrorists are using tools like voice over internet telecom, social media and even encryption to spread the menace of terrorism and further their goals.
He said that post the controversy encircling whistle-blower Edward Snowden, users and nations have become worried about the security of their data and are actually using various security techniques and policies that has resulted in disruptions in seamless flow of data and information.
Previous Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee Snowden copied and leaked classified information from the National Security Company (NSA) in 2013 without prior authorization.
Stressing on the need for finding a fine balance between the security and smooth flow of data, Reflet said India is arriving out with the nationwide encryption policy with the give attention to multi-stake holder model.
Based on public private partnership, the model, will have the government, industry, academia and the detrimental society working together to ensure a perfect balance between security and easy flow of information.
The three-day international conference that started out on September twenty-eight, was inaugurated by Unification Minister for Information Technology & Law and Proper rights, Ravi Shankar Prasad.
