What is Domain Name System
The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical allocate naming system for computer, services or any source link online or a private network. In simple conditions DNS is similar to a contact book for the internet. If you know a person’s name but don’t know their contact number, you can simply look it up in a contact book. DNS provides this same service to the web. When you visit www.cyberops.in in a browser, your system uses Domain name system to get the website’s IP address. Without DNS, you would only be able to visit our website (or any website) by visiting the Internet protocol(IP) address directly, such as http://192.168.1.5
Although converting host names to IP addresses doesn’t happen by magic. It requires some form of translation to make it happen, and the mechanism that permits that translation is the Domain Name System, or DNS.
