What is Hacking

Through the 1990s, the term “hacker” formerly denoted a skilled programmer, experienced in machine code and computer working or functioning. In particular, these individuals could always crack on an unsatisfactory system to solve problems and have interaction in a little software company watching by interpreting a competitor’s code.

There are many types of definition of hacking on the internet but we will define hacking as determining weakness in the computer system and networks and exploiting the weaknesses to gain access to. An example of cracking is using by completing the login algorithm to gain access to a system. A hacker is a person who discovers and exploits a weakness in computer systems and/or websites to get access. Hackers are usually skilled computer developers with knowledge of computer security.

Unfortunately, many of this cyber-terrorist also became experts at accessing password-protected computers, data, and networks and arrived to known as “crackers. ” Naturally, a powerful and dangerous “cracker” must be a good hacker and the conditions became connected. Hacker won in popular use and in the media and today relates to anyone that works some form of computer sabotage.

Types of Hackers

Types of hackers are classified according to their work, the following types will describe very well:

White Hat Hacker: A hacker who gains access to systems with a view to fixing the identified loopholes. They may also perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.

Black Hat: A hacker who gets unauthorized access for personal profit. The main concepts are to steal important data, crack privacy rights, transfer money etc.

Grey Hat: As like name, Grey Hat hacker who is in between ethical and black hat hackers. They break into computer or website without authority with a view to identifying loopholes and reveal them to the system owner.

Phreaker: Phreaker are good in social engineering attacks and they are identified and exploits loopholes in telephones instead of computers.

Hacktivist: A hacker who use hacking basic things to do like send political, social, religious messages. They deface the website and leaving the message on the hacked website.

Script kiddies: A non-skilled person who gains access to computer systems using already made tools.
