Harmful Trojans after penetrating into smartphones substitute themselves for bank software and other client identification data.

The number of viruses designed to break into banking applications of mobile devices has grown 3.2 times since the beginning of the second quarter of 2018. This is reported with reference to the Kaspersky Lab’s research.

It is noted that harmful Trojans after penetrating into smartphones substitute not only bank software, but also taxi calling applications, social networks and other client identification data. After that, the virus gets the login and password of the bank card and steals money from the accounts.

According to experts, mobile devices with Android operating system are most vulnerable to these Trojans. In this case, after infection with a virus, it is very difficult to recover money stolen from bank cards, since in most cases the responsibility for hacking lies with the clients themselves.

To protect against cyber threats, experts recommend using the latest versions of operating systems, updating applications in time, installing them only from official markets and coming up with complex passwords for accounts, applications and the device itself.
