Home Ministry Website blocked due to Maintenance Work, Not Hacked, says official

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) website has not been hacked and it is blocked due to fixing work, an MHA official confirmed on Sunday.

“There has been no hacking. The site is under construction, that is why it’s down, ” this individual said.

The Home Ministry website remained inaccessible through Sunday morning, which was subsequently attributed to a hacking in many information reports.

Much more than 700 websites of central ministries/departments and of condition governments were hacked between 2013 and 2016, Lok Sabha was told on Tuesday.

In a recent cyber attack, the website of (NSG), a paramilitary pressure comprising anti-terror hacking group, was partially defaced and abusive messages posted on the property page by unfamiliar hackers on January 1. The website was blocked immediately.
