Government of Telangana formulates cyber security policy

Telangana will now become the only state in the country with a dedicated policy framework on internet security. The state information technology department by using a dedicated policy for the sector will arranged up institutions and legal framework to counter internet or cyber crimes.

India had developed its national cyber security framework as late as 2013. By forming the own cyber security plan Telangana becomes the first state with an ardent plan on cyber security. The state hopes to arranged up a cyber security emergency response team in the process and increase its awareness and safe cyber practice program among citizens.

The policy was unveiled on Thursday as part of the california’s sectoral policy for information technology. The department determined four key areas internet security, data center, data analytics and open data as sectors where a policy framework will help generate more employment and boost investments. The plans were launched at Hyderabad International Convention Center by IT minister KT Rama Rao.

“In a sector-like IT we need sectoral policies that will bring more clarity, this will help to generate work and promote ease of doing business, ” said Rama Rao. The authorities must collaborate with experts and take them into consultation while framing plan, we have done that here with these guidelines. Some believe automation will bring about job loses, but in reality this will open up new industries and ecosystems of job creation, he added.

California’s cyber security policy will encompass framework on various subject areas ranging from legal and regulatory procedures to compliance and enforcement. The policy will also give incentives to cyber security businesses on server space at subsidized rates and reimbursement of sites and particular filing costs. The businesses and organisation under this sector will also receive grants to set up R&D facilities.

While speaking on data analytics, Rama Rao declared that the states give attention to data analytics will encourage the state of hawaii authorities take on data powered decisions. As a part of this effort the state will set up an information Analytics Recreation area and also set up Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK). TASK will act as a nodal agency to ensure that the state foster professionals skilled in data analysis and mining.

The state will also arranged up a Telangana Info Analysis Wing.
