22-Year-Old Claims He Has Hacked Into PM Modi’s App

Following the Twitter accounts of Rahul Gandhi and Congress party were hacked, a 22-year-old from Mumbai statements to obtain hacked into PM Narendra Modi’s Android Application. Javed Khatri says his intention was not to cause trouble but to flag a potentially tremendous security loophole.

Late on Thursday night, Javed Khatri, who says he is a mobile application programmer, provided to a website, claiming he previously hacked into the PM’s application and could access the private information of users, including email ids and even mobile numbers of union ministers. He accepts the fact that it was an exercise to draw attention to the data security risk to over 8 million users who have downloaded the app. “Not only that, I could make any user on system follow any other customer on the platform. This kind of is merely the summary of this huge security loophole which I want to report. The privacy higher than seven million users is at stake if this gets ignored”, the young hacker informed the website.

The account emerged on the website this morning but was removed after two several hours. A clarification was published later.

“The App does not capture any private or sensitive data. App customer’s information is stored in an encrypted mode… All of us would like to say thanks to Mr. Javed Khatri for acknowledging that the programmers have focused a great deal on security. We have since had a helpful engagement and discussed various security measures to further enhance the security top features of the App, ” Amit Malviya, National Convener, IT, BJP, informed the website.
